Walter Hook
Walter Hook was a renowned Montana painter, printmaker, sculptor, and educator born in Missoula in 1919. After earning degrees from the University of Montana and the University of New Mexico, he became chairman of the University of Montana art department. Known for his surrealist-inspired paintings and mixed media works, Hook received more than 90 awards and held over 80 solo exhibitions during his career. He passed away in 1989.
