Between Heaven and Earth: Jerome Albee at Gallery 709

Gallery 709 at Montana Art & Framing is proud to present “Between Heaven and Earth,” an exhibition of artwork by Jerome Albee exploring landscapes, memory, faith, and the human condition.

The exhibition opens during Missoula’s First Friday on October 2 from 5–9 PM and will remain on display at Gallery 709 through October 30, 2026.

About the Artist

Jerome Albee is a longtime Missoula resident whose family roots in the area span multiple generations. He is also a United States Army veteran.

For Jerome, painting begins with a simple love for creating art, but it has also become a way to express his experiences and give something meaningful back to others.

In his artist statement, Jerome writes:

“I paint for the love of painting, but also as a way to give back and to express what I carry in a positive and beautiful way.”

That sense of memory, reflection, and connection runs throughout “Between Heaven and Earth.” Through his work, Jerome explores subjects ranging from landscapes to the deeply personal, bringing together the themes of faith, memory, and our shared human experience.

Among all the work he creates, Jerome says the paintings that mean the most to him are the portraits he creates for Gold Star families, honoring families who have lost loved ones in military service.

“Those pieces mean more to me than anything else, because they allow my art to become something personal, meaningful, and given in honor of others.”

These portraits represent an especially meaningful part of Jerome’s work, allowing his experience as an artist and veteran to become something that can be shared with others through remembrance and tribute.
